“Too Blue To Have The Blues” and GOING NOWHERE FAST made it in the Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories on the International Bluegrass Music Association’s 2nd round award ballot. Results of that ballot will determine the final award nominees for 2014 IBMA Awards. DETOUR has a very strong presence as they also appear in the Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Instrumental Group of the Year, and Emerging Artist categories, along with a well deserved nod for Melissa (Missy) Armstrong in the Female Vocalist of the Year category.
GOING NO WHERE FAST also includes many other notable tracks including the moving “Soldier’s Sorrow” – a song that has certainly touched the hearts of their fans. As DETOUR continues to support homeless veterans from sales of the song, they were honored that three of their fans have joined Mountain Fever Records by generously matching dollar for dollar in donations. For several years, the band has also been donating proceeds from another song, “Homeless of the Brave” from their previous album A BETTER PLACE.
DETOUR is now on tour with the outstanding talents of Missy Armstrong (Lead Vocals & Guitar), Peter Knupfer (Violin), Scott Zystra (Guitar & Vocals), Jeff Rose (Mandolin & Vocals), Lloyd Douglas (Banjo), and Jeremy Darrow (Bass).
Fans can see them live tonight at the Homecoming Arts Explosion at St. Clair County Community College in Port Huron, MI and tomorrow at Aten Place in Byne Falls, MI. This top notch band will also be performing at numerous other festivals and events this year including the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in Woodstown, NJ, the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS and many more.
